Five cities - Ajman (UAE), Doral (US), Makati City (Philippines), Reykjavik (Iceland), and Vaughan (Canada) - have completed ISO 37123 Resilient Cities certification that empowers them to adopt data-driven approaches towards urban resilience.
The 11 participating municipalities received a certification that recognises the completion of Stage A and marks the beginning of Stage B, which opens the process of developing a Resilience Plan for the year 2024.

The Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) global partnership acknowledged Bonn – Germany’s United Nations City – as a Resilience Hub for committing to scale up its own climate emergency response and help other municipalities do the same.
The Portuguese National Platform on DRR’s working group on Resilient Cities met in Loulé, with certificates handed to 51 local governments for their efforts in building local resilience as part of the Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) initiative.
