Dubai as a smart, sustainable and resilient role model city to establish a city resilience hub under the MCR 2030 Programme

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and its diverse impact, Dubai government combated and alleviated the pandemic’s effects and rapidly regain momentum in recovering with its technological innovation and rapid development. It has demonstrated astonishing commitment towards building resilient cities, investing in infrastructure, and providing the vital services in line with high-level standards that have been acknowledged by UNDRR being a Role Model City under the Making Cities Resilient Campaign for being a smart, sustainable, and resilient city. Following this achievement, Dubai city pursued its ambition with a greater commitment following the launch of the Making Cities Resilient Programme 2030 last month and successfully through Dubai government departments and led by Dubai Police became the first City to submit its application for the establishment of a City Resilience Hub. 

Dubai is showcasing consolidated efforts to achieve the objectives of the sustainable development goals and to preserve the safety and future of citizens and residents of Dubai while recuperating from COVID-19 and resuming its journey towards 2030 according to the “COVID-19 City Experience Resilience and Impact Report” published by Smart Dubai and reflecting on three aspects including employees, corporate operations and customer services.
