Responding to the Political Declaration of the high-level meeting on the midterm review of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030, the workshop was held to enhance sub-national capacities focusing on accessing funds for implementation.

The Portuguese cities of Amadora, Cascais, and Odivelas hosted the 9th Meeting of Resilient Cities as part of their commitment to the MCR2030 initiative.

The next stage of the process will be to enter the data into MCR2030´s platform for external validation. It will be possible to visualise how the municipality is doing with regard to the policy for people with disabilities in disaster situations.

Five Chinese cities – Chengdu, Guangyuan, Lishui, Shanghai Changning District, and Tianjin Eco-City - have joined Making Cities Resilient 2030, providing a boost to the global partnership, which is focused on scaling up action on risk reduction.

Important strides towards an inclusive future took place in Astana, Kazakhstan on November 14, 2023.

On the occasion of the European Urban Resilience Forum 2023, held in Cascais, Portugal, on 18-20 October 2023, UNDRR and the Portuguese National Platform for DRR organized an informal peer learning exchange of the Making Cities Resilient 2030 initiative.

UNDRR and CAF have developed tools such as the "Multi-Hazard Climate Risk Analysis" and the "Scorecard: Climate Resilience Addendum." These tools aim to provide local governments with rapid assessment tools to evaluate climate change risks.

The online workshop on how the UN network supports disaster risk reduction in Swedish local councils was organized by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency(MSB) in partnership with the UNDRR Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia on November 7 2023.

The workshop was held as part of the celebration of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (13 October), whose 2023 edition aimed to promote the fight against inequality through disaster resilience.

UNDRR recognized Ulsan Metropolitan City as the latest Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) Resilience Hub. Ulsan is the home to many of Korea’s industries which have powered the country’s remarkable economic development.
